BEHS and Eguralt projects are the protagonists of today’s Technical Conferences

Baso Egur Hezkuntza Sarea (BEHS) is the project promoted by Baskegur, together with Hazi Fundazioa and the Departments of Education and Economic Development of the Basque government, to ensure that, through networking, the needs of companies in the sector are matched with the training plans of universities and vocational training centres. Today’s morning has been an opportunity to get to know this initiative in depth, as well as other realities that can help to improve the network. Among others, Dr Asif Iqbal from the University of Northern British Columbia has shown how schools and companies work in Canada and New Zealand, two situations he knows in depth.

The presentation at Egurtek of the Eguralt project today afternoon has brought the Technical Conferences to a close. The initiative aims to highlight the value of wood construction in the SUDOE area. A report has been presented, based on the testimonies of specifiers, professionals and owners surveyed in the regions that make up the SUDOE, including the Basque Country. It explores the reasons why architecture professionals, quantity surveyors and other people involved in construction choose to build in wood or, on the other hand, the reasons why they do not. It has been presented the 600-page publication that identifies the main wood construction projects that have been carried out in recent years in Southern Europe. A complete guide that includes plans and characteristics used in the construction of these buildings so that they can be taken into account in future wood construction projects.
